Best Time to Visit: July is the sweet spot — dry season warmth, calm reef conditions, and school holiday timing that suits families. Avoid January to March for outdoor activities. Barron Falls is most dramatic after rain.

Getting There: Cairns is 3 hours by direct flight from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Reef pontoon tours depart from Cairns Marina each morning. Scenic Railway departs Freshwater Station; Skyrail departs Smithfield Terminal — both accessed easily from Cairns CBD with hotel transfers available.
