What can you do in Cairns? Well one of the major attractions that draws people from all over the world to Cairns is The Great Barrier Reef.
Cairns is a major gateway to this massive living organism which stretches over 2800 kms down the North East Coast of Australia. The Great Barrier Reef offers visitors to the region an abundance of day trips and overnight trips out on the reef system snorkelling and diving.
Even if you have never tried scuba diving before you can try an introductory dive which is absolutely amazing. Introductory diving will give you a first hand experience of what it's like to dive The Great Barrier Reef and you don't need any previous experience.
If you are a certified diver then all of your dreams will come true as you can make many dives over many different locations on the reef. We find Certified divers generally like to do 2-3 different reef trips to really see what is out there on this massive reef system.
For the land lovers there are the magnificent World Heritage listed Natural Rainforests. There are numerous day trips and overnight trips into the heart of these magnificent Jungles. Experience what it is like in the heart of these amazing forests with a day or even an overnight trip into the pristine and wild Cape Tribulation.
For those wanting a little more luxury there is the fantastic rail journey threw the mountains to the quaint little village of Kuranda. After exploring Kuranda and all that it has to offer you even have the time to visit the famous Rainforestation Nature Park. After your experience at the park you can then take the Rainforest Cableway Skyrail back down to Cairns were a bus will pick you up and take you back to your accommodation.
